Other Services

In addition to tuition, I offer a range of supportive and creative services designed to meet the unique needs of each child and family.

Creative Writing

"Writing is the painting of the voice." – Voltaire

My creative writing classes are designed to spark imagination and nurture a genuine love of storytelling. Whether your child joins the daytime group for home educated learners or the evening online sessions, these classes offer a welcoming, inspiring space where creativity can truly flow. While we touch on grammar and technique, the heart of each session is about expression, play, and exploring the magic of words. From poetry to scripts, short stories to longer pieces, we follow wherever the imagination takes us. I’ll also be sharing exciting opportunities like writing competitions and collaborative projects to keep the inspiration going beyond the session. These classes are about building confidence, enjoying the process, and discovering the joy of writing in all its forms.

Book Club

"A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies... The man who never reads lives only one." – George R.R. Martin

My book groups are all about celebrating the joy of reading and helping children fall in love with stories. With one group running in person during the day for home educated children, and another online in the evening, there's a flexible option for everyone. Reading is fundamental to academic success—studies show that children who read for pleasure perform significantly better in vocabulary, spelling, and even maths—but just as importantly, it offers a way to relax, escape, and connect with new ideas. Sadly, fewer children are choosing to read for pleasure, and these sessions are designed to turn that around. We’ll read a wide variety of books—chosen partly by the group—and create a fun, relaxed space for discussion, imagination, and shared discovery.

I also offer support for children who are not currently in school, whether they are being home educated by choice or because the school system doesn’t suit their unique needs. I home educated my own child for a time and truly valued the freedom and personalised approach it allowed us—but I also know how daunting it can feel at times. That’s where outside support can really help. I work closely with families to provide flexible, individualised sessions that meet the child where they are—whether that’s through structured learning or completely child-led exploration. Support can be offered 1:1 or in small group settings, either in person or online. I’m currently training as a child and adolescent mental health coach and have completed specialist training in supporting families experiencing emotionally based school avoidance. My aim is always to create a safe, responsive space where children can learn, grow, and feel truly understood.
