Which Option Is Right for My Child?
The right support depends on your child.

Some children thrive in a small group, enjoying discussion and learning alongside others. Some benefit from building confidence before formal preparation begins. Others need more personalised support to focus on specific areas.
Take a look at the options below to find the path that feels right for your child.
Why Choose Write Path?
The 11+ can feel overwhelming for both children and parents. It's easy to get caught up in scores, practice papers and the pressure of a competitive process.
My aim is to help children build confidence, resilience and the thinking skills that will support them throughout their education. Sessions are designed to be challenging, engaging and supportive, helping children develop as readers, problem-solvers and critical thinkers.
✔ Small groups with a maximum of 4 students
✔ A calm, encouraging learning environment
✔ Focus on confidence as well as academic progress
✔ Monthly parent feedback
✔ Optional homework and mock exams
✔ Support from a qualified teacher with experience across both primary and secondary education
Whether your child is already certain they want to sit the 11+ or you're still exploring whether it is the right path for them, my goal is to help them enjoy the journey and feel confident in their own abilities.

Maximum 4 students
£15 per session, paid half-termly in advance

A gentle small-group programme for Year 4 children whose families are beginning to think about the 11+. This group is designed to build confidence, vocabulary, reasoning and problem-solving skills before formal 11+ preparation begins.

The aim is to make Year 5 easier, not make Year 4 harder.

Children will explore challenge in a supportive, low-pressure environment and begin to discover whether the 11+ journey feels right for them.
Year 5 Dorset 11+ Group
Wednesdays, 5:45–6:45pm
Maximum 4 students
£15 per session, paid half-termly in advance

A focused small-group programme for Year 5 children preparing for the Dorset Grammar School entrance tests in September 2027.

Sessions combine reading, vocabulary, maths, reasoning, exam strategies and discussion. This is not an exam factory: the aim is to help children build confidence, resilience and critical thinking skills, not simply train them to pass a test.
Monthly parent feedback is included, with optional homework and mock exams available from April.
Focused preparation. Strong skills. Greater confidence.
1:1 Support
Personalised support. Targeted progress. Building confidence
every step of the way.
Available in person in BH8 or online

1:1 tuition is ideal for children who would benefit from more individual support, whether they need help with a particular area, feel anxious about learning, or would simply thrive with a more personalised approach.

Sessions are tailored to each child’s strengths, interests and goals, with a focus on building confidence as well as skills.
This may be the best option if your child has a specific area to work on, such as maths, verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, writing or exam technique.
