GCSE English Support

Helping students feel confident, capable and prepared for success in GCSE English Language

Which Option Is Right for My Teen?

The best learning happens when students feel supported, understood and challenged.

Whether your teenager would benefit from a collaborative group, personalised 1:1 tuition or a flexible home-education pathway, there are different ways to build confidence and achieve success in GCSE English.

Take a look below to discover which option might be the best fit.

Why Choose Write Path?

GCSE English can feel overwhelming. Students are expected to analyse language, compare texts, write confidently under pressure and understand exactly what examiners are looking for.

As a qualified English teacher with over a decade of classroom experience and experience as an AQA English Language examiner, I help students develop both the skills and the confidence needed to succeed.

My sessions combine expert subject knowledge with a calm, supportive approach. Students learn how to approach exam questions strategically, avoid common mistakes and understand what earns marks in the exam room.

English Language Lab

Confidence. Skills. Success.

Online via Zoom | Thursdays 6:30–7:30pm | £39 per month

The GCSE English Language Lab is a supportive online community for students studying AQA GCSE English Language.

Designed for both Year 10 and Year 11 students, the Lab helps teenagers develop the skills, confidence and exam understanding needed to succeed—whether they are aiming to secure a pass grade or push towards the top grades.

Unlike traditional tuition, the Lab combines expert teaching, examiner insight and collaborative learning. Students learn alongside others, discuss ideas, practise exam skills and receive guidance in a relaxed, encouraging environment.

What We Focus On

✓ Understanding exactly what examiners are looking for

✓ Building confidence with reading and writing tasks

✓ Developing analytical and evaluative skills

✓ Improving structure, clarity and technical accuracy

✓ Learning practical exam strategies and time management

✓ Tackling common mistakes and misconceptions

✓ Regular opportunities to practise exam-style questions

Why Students Love the Lab

Many students find English difficult because they aren't sure what examiners want from them. As a qualified English teacher and AQA English Language examiner, I help students understand how marks are awarded and what makes a response successful.

Sessions are designed to feel supportive rather than pressured. Students can ask questions, share ideas, learn from others and gradually build the confidence they need to approach their exams with success.

Is the Lab Right for My Teenager?

The English Language Lab is ideal for students who:

• Want regular support throughout Year 10 or Year 11

• Benefit from learning alongside others

• Need help building confidence in English

• Want to improve their grades and exam technique

• Are looking for ongoing support rather than occasional revision sessions

Whether your teenager is working towards a Grade 4 or aiming for the highest grades, the Lab provides expert guidance, practical strategies and a supportive community throughout the GCSE journey.

Home-Educated Learners

Flexible learning. Individual pathways. Real progress.

Online or In Person (BH8) | Tailored to the Individual

Every home-educated learner is different.

Some are working towards GCSE qualifications. Some are building confidence after difficult experiences in school. Others simply need a learning environment that allows them to progress at their own pace and in a way that works for them.

My sessions are designed around the individual learner, not a predetermined programme.

As a qualified teacher with experience across both primary and secondary education, I create personalised lessons that reflect each student's interests, strengths, goals and learning style.

Support Can Include

✓ GCSE English Language and Literature (AQA and Edexcel)

✓ Reading, writing and communication skills

✓ Creative writing and vocabulary development

✓ Exam preparation and study skills

✓ Confidence-building and academic support

✓ Personalised projects and interest-led learning

✓ Support for learners returning to education

A Calm and Supportive Approach

Many home-educated learners come to tuition after finding school difficult.

I have experience supporting students with anxiety, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), ADHD, autism and a range of additional learning needs. Sessions are designed to be calm, welcoming and flexible, allowing students to feel safe, understood and able to engage with learning again.

Building trust and confidence is just as important as academic progress.

Learning That Fits Your Child

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme, sessions are shaped around your child's individual goals.

For some learners, this means preparing for GCSE examinations and future study. For others, it means developing literacy skills, exploring new ideas, building confidence or simply rediscovering a love of learning.

Wherever your child is on their educational journey, my aim is to provide supportive, engaging tuition that helps them move forward with confidence.
